Juliana Huxtable Talk

LOCATION: LPAC

Juliana Huxtable, a trans based artist based out of New York City, will be giving a lecture on her practice as an artist who engages in video, photography, and performance art. Huxtable has maneuvered her way through the highly normative art world establishment, most recently landing a spot in the 2015 New Museum triennial and getting her photography acquired by the Guggenheim, who notes that Huxtable “explores the intersections of race, gender, queerness, and identity ... us[ing] a diverse set of means to engage these issues, including self-portraiture, text-based prints, performance, nightlife, music, writing, and social media.”
